World Voice International (WVI) believes strongly in the empowerment of global women through personal – one on one – media training.

Focusing on the need for specific literacy and media training programs in rural as well as urban areas, WVI educates women by empowering them to reach out as they share information with their family, their community, their nation and the globe.

By linking in partnership with women’s news agency, Women News Network – WNN, World Voice International (WVI) brings “ownership” of media to disadvantaged women from global rural regions by training them in literacy, public speaking, journalism, photography, radio production, videography and ICT – Information and Communication Technologies through greater computer management and knowledge.

When women take ownership of media, a new life of opportunity is opened to them that will allow them to speak on conditions in their own world with greater authority as a journalist, a radio broadcast producer, a photographer, a videographer or filmmaker.

Through affiliations with successful “on-the-ground” training networks, WVI closely manages all of its outstanding media programs. To track efficient outreach and success, all programs are carefully selected and closely followed and rated by WVI after training sessions are complete.

By gathering and accessing post-program feedback from each of our program participates, World Voice International is better equipped to fully serve the needs of our expanding community of women.

Making radio programmes in Southern India has been child’s play for tape-recorder wielding Dalit women, as they record 500 hours. “It’s our radio and we will broadcast programs made by us for our benefit. We will talk about seeds, crop diversity, organic farming, health, hygiene, women’s problems and sending children to school, virtually everything that touches the community,” said radio station “General” Narsama brimming with confidence. – Image: Ramesh Babu
